Default Anyone Ever Strip Black PC Off Forks?

I'm thinking about stripping the black powder coat/paint/whatever off my bikes fork sliders and leaving the machined surface. I'd likely just spray 'em with clear or maybe have them clear anodized.

Anyone else ever do it? How'd it turn out?

Powder Coat needs to be burned off at a very high temp. They will then need some refinishing work. You may be better off trading someone.

lol ... damn, that's not very encouraging.

Anyone know if there's a machined/clear coated slider off another HD that'll fit a Breakout? I'm not interested in the chromed CVO sliders.

You dont have to burn off the powder. You can get paint stripper from your local hardware store and strip it off. It can be a pain but it will work without burning. The stripper at your store is not as good as the chemical we use in the coating industry but it will strip it off with a little effort. You can sand and then anodize at about any plating shop and you are all setup.
