Couldn't do it!
There's a lot going on in our life right now, building a house about a 100 miles away from where we live, decluttering and getting ready to move hopefully sometime in August. Wife and I decided one of my bikes had to go (can use the money, one less thing to move, all the sensible reasons).
Got up this morning ready to wash and detail my 2009 FLHP before taking pics and posting it for sale online. Got to the garage and feet froze! Kept looking at the black beauty and thinking about all the good times I've had on it in the last 6 years and how it fits me like a old pair of jeans. Now I've owned and sold 26 bikes over my long riding life and have never gone back from deciding to sell before. First time for everything!

I know the feeling! When I bought my 2013 Ultra Classic I just figured the reasonable thing to do would be to sell my VTX1800. But like you as I looked at it and recalled all the trips and great memories I had on the Honda I just couldn't do it. The fact that it had 50,000 absolute trouble free miles on it didn't help either. Without trying to sound "sappy" I felt like I would be letting an old friend down if I let it go. So I decided to keep it. We all know these "toys" are just machines and not living beings but we all feel a certain connection that can be hard to let go. All my friends said after getting the Ultra I would never ride the Honda again.... WRONG! To this day I split time equally between the two and they sit next to each other in the garage like brothers. ( I know that last line was a bit corny but it does feel that way)

Yup, it was setup as a pursuit bike for the Montgomery County sherrif's dept and I bought it as a "demo" with 9 miles on the clock and civilianized it over the years. that picture is at the top of beartooth pass at about 11,000 ft elevation from a few years ago.
