Default Showlow AZ to Camp Verde AZ via 260

Can anyone give me an idea of the road conditions for this stretch of highway? I see portions are closed in the winter. Wondering if this gets rough anywhere.

thanks!

From Payson, AZ to Camp Verde, the road was resurfaced last year...don't know ShowLow...

The roads are in good condition. If you ride there in the winter you will reach elevations from 6500 to 8000 feet from Show Low until just before Payson and it will be much cooler with chances of rain/snow than the route from Payson to Camp Verde.

I rode this in March. Roads are in fine condition. Be prepared to add/remove layers of clothing though as you will be drastically changing elevation.

Heading over to Prescott AZ from Albuquerque via 60 to 260 to I17 in the next two weeks. Weather should be good provided the rain has moved on.
Have done 60 many times down to Globe and into Phoenix burbs but never through Showlow onto Payson/Camp Verde stretch.

thanks for the input!
