Default What's the best state for riding?

When I can't ride, I watch videos of other people riding., (pathetic I know).
I've seen beautiful videos of NC of course but also some great scenery form Kentucky.
What's the best state to retire to and ride all the time?

I was going to say Colorado until I saw the last part of your post. Colorado is beautiful and has all kinds of riding opportunities....mountains, plains, cities, backroads to nowhere...but you jsut HAD to throw in that "all the time" part.

Our riding season is limited by weather. We have a huge poker run tomorrow but I am afraid the weather may keep the bikers from coming out to enjoy it.

I'll probably take some flack, but California has everything. Even weather. The awesome Pacific Coast Highway, the inland deserts, and high mountains and forests. From long straight sections of road to some of the tightest twisties, something for everyone. You can ride 12 months here.

Stay out of the major population areas such as the Bay Area, and LA, and traffic is fairly light

I do enjoy riding on the coast.

I agree with this, California has something for everyone, beach, mountains, every climate and 12 months of riding. Even in the populated areas, you are never too far away from a lonely road. If you can afford to live there, or can stand the people, nothing can beat California for riding. The only negative is the helmet law.
