Default Doh! Left my key FOB on the driveway...

So I was cleaning my bike and had laid my FOB on the driveway for some unknown reason. Don't know why I took it out of my pocket. I had just come back from a ride into town. The FOB was close enough to my bike that it started and off I went. I rode several miles to a store and made my purchase and mounted her. She did not like that. All her lights started flashing, I felt in my pocket and knew exactly what I had done. Fortunately, my wife was home and about to drive right past the store I was at to run her own errand. She found the FOB right where I left it and came to my rescue. Could have been a lot worse. I could have been going on a day trip and not realized it until I stopped for fuel. Anyone else have this happen? I don't know of a way to idiot proof this kind of mistake.

Lol....I feel ya! Pretty sure there is a way to get bike started with out the fob. Every bike is different, some series of pushing this and tapping that. Haha.... just never looked into it. In your manual somewhere.

Keeping your keys in your pocket where they should be anyway will idiot proof your problem.

Reason #4,976 why I'm thankful to have an old bike.

I couldn't agree more! I just can't stand all of the effort on the MoCo to turn Harley into the electronic equivalent of the modern automobile. And, I don't like that fact that can't get the new bikes to run right without spending a lot of extra money. I'll keep my 15 year old, carbed bike that I know how to fix myself.

Default Modern Bikes

I agree about the older bikes being easier to live with but they are also easier to steal without the modern security systems.

While the HD security is convenient as heck. Can't remember the last I locked my ignition or forks since I keep my bike garaged and have not been on an overnight ride in a long time. However, having to keep up with the FOB is a PITA. I guess it's no different than keeping up with your keys.
