Default Always wanted a springer. Good years?

Id like to eventually get a Springer Softail.. Love the style. Obviously id have to get a pre owned one since Harley currently dosent make one. So whats good year to watch for? I always see alot of 2004's pop up all the time but i dont know if i reallly would want to go with a Carb over Fuel injection.. The only Carb Harley i ever owned was a 1996 1200 XL.. Are the 04's any good? I know they have the skinnier 150 rear.. But hows the suspension? Whats the fatest tire you can fit on that stock wheel? Or am i better off looking at the newer years?

seen alot of problems with the early springers. i know they changed some things on them over the years such as putting the front brake rotor on the other side. i've seen rotors warp like a bowl on them. a friend of mine had one of the riser bolts break and part of the lower fork bent and was replaced under warrenty. he had alot of problems with his front end on his bike. do your home work on these before you buy one. i've just never cared for them. if i remember correctly i thought there was some kind of class action suit againest harley for these front ends for awhile. i could be wrong, it's be along time ago (early 90's)

I've been craving a Bad Boy model....even though I'm a Shovel lover I could get into an Evo.

I would also like to have a springer, but what I'm more after is an evo heritage springer like this.

Be prepared to fork out between 10K-14K for one in really good shape. They are not cheap but so far appear to be holding value better than any other..
