Default How do you park your bike on a hill?

Here something I have never done cause we don't have any hills here. I do know if visit certain places you don't have many options but to park on a hill. Unless you find a flat place and walk a few blocks. So I just wondering if you had no other options how would you park your bike up and down hill?

I prefer parking up hill, with rear wheel against curb, in gear. But the Jiffy stand will hold pointed downhill, in gear, especially if you have a curb. Park a few inches away from it, so you have room room to turn out when you leave. As I stated in an earlier thread, make sure there are no obstacles to turning, like a curb mounted mailbox.

front facing up the hill with left side either level or lower than the right. always put it in gear and let it roll back into the gear before putting the stand down. you can park it nose down the hill if you must but the important part is the kick stand side being lower. my neighbor found that out the hard way with his shiny new ninja.

First gear is your parking brake. The bike thinks level is parallel to the grade. Never park perpendicular to the incline.

HeHe, I don't. Actually that was a theoretical post. I have never tried it, because I have always parked uphill or just left the bike in left lock, pointed downhill, because there was no curb. If I could use a curb as a block I would, but now that you mention it, I don't know if the bike would sit with wheel turned to the right.

The one time I had to back my bike up, I had my large son help me.

Front wheel downhill, bike 45 degree angle to the curb with front wheel touching, steeper the hill better off you will be.
Trust me on this one.
