Why? In my opinion these are 2 of the more versatile Harley models, meaning they seem great for anything from riding around town to cross country, just as they come from the dealer. But that being said the SG seems a bit of an upgrade, so not sure why you'd switch unless you plan to do a lot of riding sans bags and windshield (this is not meant to trash the Switchback, it was on my shortlist until I fell in love with the look of the Slim).

I bought my Switchback a year ago April, I think I'm keeping this one (never said that before) its way lighter and very nimble, and it fits me I'm 5'-7". To each there own, just chimin in, good luck.

If you switch, it will make it easier for you to locate your bike in a crowded parking lot.

For the riding you do, the Dyna is a better fit. You giving up the stereo qualifies you as a true motorcycle enthusiast.

*groan*

Street glide is just fine around town, I use mine as a daily commuter, grocery getter, going to an event and need to find parking ride, and a touring bike. I wouldn't get upside down on payments to switch to a smaller bike, so if you already own the 14 FLHX then I'd stick with it, rather than taking the depreciation hit that'll come from trying to sell it or trade it in.

I'd pass on both & get the Low Rider.

With its removable bags and windshield, the Switchback is more versatile than the SG. It's also much lighter and more fun to ride when the road gets twisty.

It would be nice if there was a laced wheel option for the Switchback.

Good point. However, if the OP ain't happy, then money may not be an obstacle.
