Removing Foot Boards

Removing Foot Boards
Does anyone know if I can remove the footboards and replace them with pegs on a 2015 Road King without going through the expense of forward controls which is running about $800? I have already added an EZBrake and an extended toe shifter so the footboards are clear but I just don’t like them. I have been riding a Wideglide for years and not comfortable with the footboards. Highway pegs are an option but I do a lot of city driving. Thanks

I never had a bike with FB's till I bought the Heritage in 07....
Now I wouldn't ride one without them...
???? have you given them a chance to see if you might like them...?????

My current bike is the first one with boards I have ever had and after getting use to them, I love them. Give it a chance just like the heel toe shifter.

I've never had FB and I'd be changing them too. I rode a SG with them and I had to keep looking down to see where my feet were.

I've been riding my fatboy for 2 years now, and the footboards still don't feel natural. I don't place my feet flat on them, but just rest the heels on. I guess my legs aren't quite long enough to bend so that my lower leg is vertical. And since I wear motorcycle boots, there's not much ankle movement to allow the foot to sit flat. As such, and together with the constant board grinding, I'm tempted to move to pegs.
In the UK, there is a minimum radius on all parts of the bike, and as the footboards grind down, the edge of the metal is too sharp to pass the annual test. So when it comes around next year, I think my hand might be forced and it will be a choice of buy new boards or spring for forwards. I think I'll know by then which way to go.
