Effect of Stage 1 tune on MPG
Don't want to hijack a recent thread on improvements due to stage 1 upgrade, so starting a new thread.
What effect does stage 1 upgrade have on MPG on a 103 engine? My bike is plenty good as it is - I have the N1K for going fast - but if no real MPG penalty for stage 1, I might go for it.

The whole idea is your using more gas to accommodate the extra air, right(?) so milage will drop somewhat say from 37 to 35,,
But the biggest deal is folks enjoy the extra/new found power and tend to be a little heavier on the throttle.
So like every vehicle mileage is affected by driving style.
My 96 went from 42 to 35-37

I did the Stage 1 to my 2015 Low Rider (V&H Big Shots w/ Quite Baffles, DK Customs 587 AC, and Power Vision 2 turner with Fuelmoto map). I'll trade a little less MPG for all the benefits you get from the Stage 1 upgrade.

My Dad used to always say that a bigger motor, well tuned, would get better gas mileage than a smaller motor. The key words are "well tuned". If I'm cruising down the highway and not in too big a hurry (keeping it below 75 mph), I've actually gone up in mileage over stock by a couple miles per gallon. Now if I'm riding back roads or in town, it is just too much fun to crank the throttle and listen to the pipes. So naturally it goes down some.

Same results here. After stage 1 upgrade and tuning with FP3, I am getting over 40mpg riding 2up in the North Carolina mountain roads. By the way the riding is wonderful.
