First father son ride...
This is my son's first bike and he took his first ride on it fresh out of the riders safety course yesterday. We had a blas and he was all smiles. We are going on a long ride Monday and he is counting the minutes!

Just because your son finished a 2 day course in a closed parking lot doesn't mean he is ready to ride on the street.
I'm going to skip over the lack of riding gear because that is too obvious.
Have him start in your own subdivision so he can get used to the idea that cones are replaced with cars, children, animals and other unpredictable object that will or will not move.

+1 on enjoy your ride.
I would take it slow because your son will try too keep up with you and that might be beyond his abilities.
I don't know how long your son has been riding (mine started at 8 and is now 13) but just take it easy.

His first bike looks an awful lot like mine but I haven't had my safety course yet.
It's great you and your son get to ride together.

Preach safety and have fun. Remember to reinforce the safety tips that could keep him alive. Practice emergency stops and counter steering. The parking lot manuevers are fancy and nice to know but 9 times out of 10 they won't save your life like emergency stop could. Let him get the feeling of the breaking point where the tire will lock up.. To me that's a skill even some experienced riders won't practice and forget to.
But most importantly have FUN!

my son jut got his Florida endorsement and it takes at least 1 day for the MSF feed to the state to update.
You can't get your license the same day you graduate the course.
