Interesting video on batteries
Myself I have been thinking real hard about next battery being lithium ion. Decent and somewhat informative video nonetheless. Certainly a lot more information can be found but this has starter info if nothing else.

With my lead acid battery coming up on 3 years I've been doing some research.
I recently picked up a Antigravity Battery lithimum ion micro jump-starter and am very impressed by the power the battery has in such a small package.
However, as noted in the video, the lithium ion battery comes at a higher price.
The video mentions "somewhat higher price" but I've found it to be a lot higher price.
From my brief research it appears a quality lead acid battery can be had easily for under a $100 and the lithium ion battery is going to set you back over $300.
Seeing that I'm getting 3-4 years out of a lead acid battery it would take as much as 12 years to break even in cost with the lithium ion so price is certainly not a reason to go with lithium ion battery.
If I had to replace my lead acid battery today, I'd probably just go with lead acid.
More than likely in a few years lithium ion technology will be more cost friendly.

I run the Anti-gravity 600cca lith. battery in my beast , only thing that will turn her over and they cost more than a " little " over a good AGM or gel battery like twice as much. My justification is the other batteries struggled on a good day with mine and never lasted 2 yrs , the anti gravity has been in now about 18 months now and will turn her over no issues so I expect the increased life span will make up the price trade off. Unreal the amount of power it puts out at 2/3 the size and 1/3 the weight of a traditional battery.

I just put in a ($200) Lithium 460cca last week made by BatteryTender. So far so good. I was having issues with if I let it sit for a week or so without tender hooked up it would barely turn over or not start due to weak spark. Not seeing that issue with this battery yet. I did reach out directly to BatteryTender as I already have a 2 bank BT charger. They recommended a Lithium specific charger saying the one I have may damage it by overcharging it. So dropped another $30 on that (800ma) as well. Could have got the Jr lithium charger (750ma) for $20. I did leave my current BT charger on it overnight tho before asking BT about it. So as of yet is seems fine, and has popped off every time I try it. Longevity? We shall see.

Here's a tip from experience, while a lith. mc battery has big power behind them you have to " wake them up " before loading them after sitting a bit. Meaning turn the lights on for a minute or two while you gear up before you hit the starter button. Does something to the battery, Anti gravity's web site has a nice in detail explanation on all this. Mine if I hit the button on a cold start you can here the starter loading up but barely turning over, I let go give it 30 seconds and she'll spin like the plugs are out after the first roll over.
Very interesting. Do you notice anything happening when lights are on before you start it? Dimming or brightening and such?
