back to dunlops
well I tried another Michelin commander2 on the rear of my 2013 electra glide ultra limited. I got 8335 miles out of it. its getting ready to start showing fiber. I got 9000 out of the first one I tried but fiber was showing all way around it. I got 12000 out of the factory dunlops. makes it hard to believe all the high mileage people are posting about these tires. I don't think I could coast my bike and get 10000 miles out of them. Im going to the Dunlop American elite this time. Michelin commander 2s suck!

You seem to be the only other person that agrees with me. Everyone else raves about the MC II. Not so great for me especially in tar snakes handling but miles out of the tire was nothing to brag about.

I didn't see anything special at all about them. they were bad on tar snakes. followed ever grove in the road too. just ordered a tire from rocky mountain atv. They are the cheapest I have found on the net to get tires. Did you say you know a indy that changes tires reasonable?

You won't be disappointed in the Dunlop American Elite. With proper tire pressures and "reasonable" riding habits you can easily get 16,000 plus. I know I did and I ride a heavy "***" Ultra Classic.

I took the MC II's off my FB because of some crazy tread distortion .. heres the thread on the tire issue.. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...mander-ii.html
when I took the front tire off to replace it, I realized how poor the sidewall construction was so I went and replaced the rear also. I could almost literally collapse the top of the tire down to the bottom. I installed the DE tires and couldn't be happier. the firm ride is back with the stock air pressure setting. with the mich I had to jack the tire press up 4 lbs from stock to get the bike to "feel" right.

I've got Dunlops on mine too. I'm pretty sure that's all I've had. And I'm on my 3rd set now.

The Dunlop's on my 2009 FLHTCU have given great service ( 3rd set ) and I'll continue using them ... Ridiculous mileage and great handling :>)
