Default Ready To GO!

Bills paid.....check
Oil changed.....check
Bike ready.....check
Gear ready......check
Route's planned and loaded......check
Camera ready.......check
Hotel reservations made.......check

Now all that needs to happen is the calendar date to change to June 3 and off we go, we (the wife and I 2-up) are heading on our first long trip together. Leaving Wednesday we will be heading East out of MI heading for New Hampshire for 5 days, then down the coast to Connecticut for a few more days and then around back to home.

Planned route will keep us off the superslab and on the local county roads, stopping often, to take time to smell the roses as they say. My planned route attempts to keep us in the saddle for a mere 6 hours a day, if one was to ride straight to the planned destination which is highly unlikely, just too many fine roads between here and there.

Once in NH we will be doing day trips out of the resort we have booked and looking at the surrounding area there are plenty of beautiful sights to see!

Hardest part is attempting to limit mamma's need to pack the kitchen sink, as this is her first long bike trip. I have pulled a bag liner out and told her that this is all you get so pack wisely, if we get cold we can always stop and buy a sweatshirt, I actually think she is getting the idea.

Can't wait, its going to be great weather by the looks of it (of course that can change) and something I have been looking forward to for a while now.

We already have a place in Connecticut to stay and a bud down there will be leading a couple of day rides out of the East Haddam CT, been there a couple of times in a cage, the roads are awesome, lots of twisting tree lined roads and rolling scenery.

We are planning to visit a friend a bit further South in Redding CT and the coastal ride from East Haddam looks like 3 hours of pure heaven.

Hope to get a bunch of photographs of the trip, see ya when we return, until then ride safe and ride often.

Sounds like you have a plan! Hope you and the Missus have an awesome ride. Hoping for a cabin trip next weekend myself, with a ride home on the Parkway.

Having quality rain gear could make the difference between a tolerable trip and a miserable trip. Keeping an eye on radar can also be very helpful if you have a smartphone. Best of luck and hope the best for you both. Sounds like you have a well executed plan but one never knows what can happen.

Where abouts in NH are you staying? There are a lot of nice resorts up there. Just make sure you toot the horn and say hey Jim as you cruise through Boston
