Default Harely Logo licensing question

Hello. My name is Scott. Had a question and would love any feedback.

I'm planning to apply for a logo license. I'm a wood carver / woodworker with a concept for handmade, original Harley signage (non mass produced).... Large, original art pieces.

So my questions:
- Im not sure I have the talent, but assuming I did, do you think I have shot at securing a license for these "one-off" pieces? Does Harley only consider mass production companies for their licenses?
- My plan is to custom make a prototype before doing anything else. I would apply for the license by hard mail and include professional photos of the prototype and video of it being made. Any other thoughts that might help with my bid for a license?
- Any other constructive advice you can offer?

I have included pics of my work below. My Harley concept is to carve original signage inspired by the outdoors, wildlife, and great riding landscapes.

Thx.
Scott

welcome Scott !
no real answer for you but just wanted to say your work is really nice . you've got the talent

do you have licenses for the other products you represent ? i suspect if these are one-off art pieces there's no need . i'm pretty sure Andy Warhol wasn't licensed by Campbell's to use their soup cans . also you're probably so far below their radar it wouldn't be worth the time of a lawyer to write you a cease and desist letter . but i am just guessing !

You need to check a copyright attorney, not some Monday morning types on the internet. If you're making a profit, you more than likely will need permission from any company, including HD and Leinenkugels.

You need a license to sell any branded work...we had a local restaurant get a cease & desist letter from Jimmy Buffet for a menu item called " Cheese burger in Paradise" the restaurant framed the letter an hung it in the lobby

Excellent work.

Obviously, Harley's concern is to protect the logo and the brand. I would suspect there is a fee to secure a license. The link below should give you an idea of the detail that goes into creating the HD logo.

All you can do is contact Harley and see what they say. I wish you the best of luck.
