Default cruising RPM

Good day all, I am new to the motorcycle scene and have a question.When cruising around town what rpm range should I be in? Also at what rpm should I up shift at? Thanks in advance for your expertise.

Might be helpful to know what bike you're talking about. Else check your owners manual for suggested ranges and go from there. Don't lug the engine.

I try to stay above 2500 around town and shift around 3200. When on the highway, I tend to stay around 28 - 3000 and shift around 3500

I cruse around 3000. Right where my cams start to come in. Thats 70 mph for me.

Around town I rarely run under 2500 rpm. I upshift anywhere from 2500 to 5000, depends on the situation and my "state of mind".

Funny how most harley owners are afraid to work the engines on these bikes , most cams today don't start making horsepower till 2500 rpm or higher.

My cam loves 3000rpm.....try to stay there all the time.
I shift at all sorts of rpm's depending on what the traffic is doing, but usually rev to about 4500rpm
I changed my pistons when upgraded to 96....lots of carbon built up on them...will not lug my engine and use lots of cleaning products to reduce carbon built up. At least i hope they help.

cruise between 2.4-2.6 and shift anywhere abobe that to stay civil.
Otherwise, when no one's lookin, it's ballz to the wall
