Default 1000 mile service

I recently bought my first bike, a 2010 Fat Bob FXDF. I was out of town when my bike hit 1000 miles. When I got home I was at 1247. Could I ride it for a couple more days until changing fluids? Or should I hold off until payday and change them? I just don't know how much damage will occur if any of I ride about another 100 miles.

It's not going to hurt anything. Take care of it when you get paid.

It's not written in stone, a couple more days won't hurt, you'll be fine.

Just out of curiosity, OP, how is it that a 2010 bike is just now hitting 1000 miles?

I, like you, have always been amazed as to why someone would buy a bike and then put it away. 1000 miles in 5 years is unbelievable.

OP said he just bought the bike; he didn't say he bought it NEW in 2010 and put it away.

Now that's a Garage Queen! Hopefully the OP can put it to better use than the original owner!

I'm well aware of that but SOMEONE bought that bike five years ago and THEY never rode it.

K...sorry, my misread. Have an almost stock 75 FXE that has just over 10K on it...all original miles. Translates to pretty low yearly miles. The original owner (I am 2nd) had a near-miss on an accident, put it away and left it buried in his garage until I came across it last year.

Good find for the OP and has been stated, hopefully he (OP) will give the bike the attention it deserves.
