What about the OCC production bikes?
Has anyone seen these? How much are they? What is your opinion of them? Will they thrive?

RE: What about the OCC production bikes?
The greenie was actually ridden in Wild Hogs. Gotta love that paid product placement. Or maybe they did the cameo in exchange for it?
If what people have been saying about their other bikes is any indication on the quality of these, then they're pretty much eye candy only. Production eye-candy will not survive the test of time in my opinion. I think they need to make bikes that are rideable and will actually last to make it work.
I don't really have any experience or second hand info. Just speculation.

I was looking at one just a couple of hours ago. Very nice looking machine. Some special touches here and there I havn't seen before. Very nice to look at.
To ride? I don't know; but it didn't look very comfortable to me. I wouldn't buy one, it's just not my style.

I think most of their "theme" bikes are stupid. Some of the old school looking bikes were ok. I just checked out their site, looked at the Greenie- that bike actually looks pretty cool. I've never seen one in person, no idea how much they cost. If they are really $50K, that's ridiculous. There are a lot of nice looking bikes out there for a lot less $$.

I don't know. I just think that in a custom, a bike shouldn't look like a motor set into a frame, with all kinds of exposed frame. These bikes to me are a frame, a motor, a seat and sometimes a couple of fenders. The seat should meet the tank and cover the frame (my stock and my custom seat does on my Deuce) and the tank should cover the exposed frame behind the neck (again, my Deuce does).
Just a few bikes I think show this, without them being radical customs:

I got the same problem with Big Dog that I got with OCC. Except for maybe the spider bike - are they really nicer than a well turned out H-D? Do they get the details? And as someone said earlier - can you ride em?
