Default What do you guys do with oem parts?

I know I could try to sell them but after looking through the FS threads people aren't really jumping on this stuff. I have the usual oem takeoffs exhaust, air cleaner, mirrors etc. I don't really have the room to store this stuff and I hate just throwing a complete chrome exhaust in the garbage. What do you guys do with your old stuff if you can't sell it?

I keep all mine, put them in the aftermarket boxes and label them. As a friend or someone needs it I'll give it to them. A lot better to help somebody in need than the little change it would bring me. That's just me.
I also ask all my friends to do the same, or give them to me until they need them

Keep the oem stuff, reinstall the stuff when you sell it, it makes your bike more valuable and easier to sell..
If you are good at welding, you can make sculptures out of the stuff too.

I give mine to my Indie mech. He returns the favor with a reduced hourly rate and he gives me parts that I want or need in return.

I'll never put them back on that's why I took them off in the first place so someone else who needs them can have them.

Keep 'em. If I sell the bike I put all the OEM parts back on it and sell the aftermarket stuff if I can't use it on the next one.

BTW - for those who get mods and parts changed at the dealership, ask for your parts and bring them home. Up until a year ago I could go up to the service dept and pick up a take offs, not everyone was allowed. Now they are being ordered not to allow it and every couple of weeks they destroy everything - yep how bad does that suck.

Pass it on like Sheff says.I find it rewarding to help a brother out in need.

Indy gets them. He's always been good to me and I'll never use them again and never re-install them. The only thing I keep is the pipes just in case.
