Just wondering if any of you have run a whole can of Seafoam through your bike at one time? Back of the can says 2 ounces per gallon to clean. And elsewhere on the can, if states further that you can run as high as a 50/50 mix of fuel and Seafoam. Anybody ever dump a whole can in at a fillup to clean things out? Thanks in advance for your replies.

 

Only if you want to put new plugs in and have a real mess on your hands, That sounds like a mix you would put in a boat or snomobile for storage. 50/50 it would choke and die.
If you have that much to clean up you have other issues..

That's way overkill.
I'll dump a full can in a 20gal tank for a car or truck.
But stick with the couples OZ per gal like the can says.
Like many things this is not a case of more is better.

 

Seafoam is essentially naphtha aka jet fuel. Refined above diesel fuel and below gasoline. Not sure how high a mixture would have an adverse effect. But why? The amount to clean the injectors is all that is needed and the only purpose of using it.

 

I've dumped a whole can of seafoam in my bike before and never had any problems. No fouled plugs or anything like that. What I will usually do is dump half of the can in and then the other half the next time I get gas. That way it has a couple tanks to help clean things up.

 

I use 1 can per 3 tank fills, and do a dose every other tank. Usually every summer I do one can each of Seafoam, Techron, and Mystery Oil, in all my rides. By skipping every other tank it usually takes the entire summer to get through them. SeaFoam is my favorite of the three.
