Spent last week getting cross eyed on KW.. Sunday afternoon I stopped to get some souvenirs for my girls and went into Sloppy Joes to get some shirts and stuff.. I have on a HD tee shirt (I look like an accountant) and the lady behind the register asks, "Do you actually ride? Please tell me you ride" so I reply I do. Both she and her OM ride so we were talking for a minute... I ask her why she asked if I rode, her reply - "See those 2 guys over there in the cut off HD shirts, I asked them if they rode. They said yes.. I asked them what they owned and they said Vespa scooters!".. The 2 guys heard her and turned around and say "Theyre scooters but we can ride at 50MPH!".. There were a few other motorcyclists in the store and we were on the floor laughing...

 

My wife and I went to KW for a little vacation. She talked me into renting a scooter to run around on. Sitting at a stop light, 8 Harleys roll up behind me. Bike week you know. Light turns green, I twist the throttle, little noise, some smoke, not much else happened. I managed to get across the intersection and to the curb to get out of their way. Took the scooter back. Decided right then, I would rather walk than ride a scooter.

 

Haha. Look out for them doing 50!

I have 5 registered scooters in the garage. 1 unregistered. 2 registered motorcycles.

I would say I ride 50/50 motorcycle/scooter. Different occasions, different bikes.

Yes the Scotters have their place. I also own both. With the streets and parking in Key West. Scooter is a great way to get around town.

 

Plenty of parking in KW for motorcycles, even if you have to "condense" the scooters a little to make room for your bike, if you know what I mean!!

 

No one is bashing the scooters... Especially in KW... It was the 2 guys dressed up like summertime pirates not owning any sort of bike that was funny...
