Took the next two weeks off work, made bike ready for trip to Sturgis (my 6th trip), and at the last minute my riding partner cancelled. My wife and kids tell me just go, but I just can't seem to motivate myself for it. Just bummed.
Some of my most memorable rides have been riding alone; you made the time to go and you have the bike ready, throw your leg over it and see what lies out there. To me riding is a very personal thing, but you never know who you might meet along the way, could end up one of the greatest friends you'll ever know.

I couldn't agree more with this, I've ridden all over the western part of the country, both alone and with others. I have GREAT memories of the solo trips.
I'm assuming, maybe incorrectly, that you had already made and paid for accommodations once you got there. I would doubt that deposit is refundable at this late date. You may as well use them.
I love riding by myself. I go when I want, stop when I want. I eat at places I like, and usually meet interesting people. Go for it. Did you already pay for lodging?
Some of the best times ever had have been when you set out alone, more options open up and often you'll meet people you would not normally come across.
