Default Mount highway pegs on lower rail of engine guard

Looking for ideas how to mount highway pegs on lower rail of engine guard and have pegs fold UP when not in use.

Looked at google images and only thing found is this and it's a blurry photo but you get the idea.

Anyone done this?

No, but it DOES seem like they would be more usable that way.

They are suppose to be mounted on the INSIDE of the engine guard. Look at the box the parts come in from Harley the next time you're at the dealer.

Looks to me like they could be mounted any where you want.

or better yet, read the directions that come with them.

if you do decide to mount them there, no way you're going to be using lowers then..... but i'm sure you already figured that out

Yah I'm good with that but looking for a method of mounting highway pegs to lower engine guard so they:

1. Don't make motor wider
2. Maintain appearance of motor (stay within lines of motor)
3. Allow comfortable "heel and toe" foot position
4. Closed pegs follow vertical line of outer engine guard
5. Uncluttered appearance

Seems so easy but looking at available highway peg mounts, I find none fitting these criteria.

If my quest is unsuccessful, I may get creative and make a pair that do what I want.

This is how I did mine. I could never get how having them up high would be
comfortable. I like to stretch my legs low down, with a slight bend at the knee.

They fold up like this, have not scraped them yet.

Side shot

I can rest my heel on the floorboards, with toes on the pegs.
It's the most comfortable position I could come up with.
I wouldn't recommend it if you drag your boards a lot!

Some people just don't have a clue. The only thing you need to really worry yourself with is that they fold up and into the bike so they don't create another high-side point to launch you over the bike in case of a screw-up.

I like it but on the fence. With my Road King being rebuilt I bought black Lindby bars and the biggest Banana Boards available Also bought a couple different highway pegs and will want to ride the bike first before I decide to scar my guard with highway pegs. Sure do like what you have done. Kudos!!!
