Default I feel like I am riding a new bike

My bought used Sportster has always had a very high pitched "clicking" sound coming from the transmission. It sounded the same as a ticking valve in a car. It was very very loud and really a bit annoying. Being a new rider and the fact that my bike only had 2182 km on it when I picked it up I figured that is how a Sportster should sound.......not even close. Saturday I decided to change out the tranny fluid and check the chain tension. The tension was fine but the fluid was a close second to black. There were only a few metal shavings on the drain plug, nothing to really worry about. I took the bike out for a quick ride after the fluid change and the clicking sound was completely gone and the bike feels A LOT smoother. The shifts are a lot quieter and the bike is overall is a lot smoother. It feels like a different bike all together, it has gone from a rattling noisy paint shaker to a smooth cruiser with one fluid change.

I post this in case anyone else has let their tranny fluid change go to long.

Change all three holes every 5000 miles with nothing but Syn3.
I has always ran smoothly.

I hope this doesn't start another fluid thread.

Probably the new oil flushed something out of a lifter and right now doing what it's supposed to do, cleaning all the other crap out, wouldn't hurt to change the oil filter in about 1K kms.
