I was switching out my tank console base plate on my 2014 Breakout for a baseplate for the Blackline console, and when I pulled out the little gray retainer clip for the top plate connector and it dropped down into the tank. How concerned should I be?

Service manual picture of part in question.

Did you get a new clip? Otherwise I wouldn't be too concerned. I can't tell from the picture, is it a plastic clip?

It keeps the connectors from vibrating loose...I'd be concerned.

I wouldn't be too concerned, you do have a fuel filter to prevent debris. However, because I am a perfectionist I would take the tank off and work to remove the clip.

The picture I put up is a picture with the gray clip missing from the back of the connector. Yes it is plastic. I will get a new one; and hopefully there is a part# for such a small little piece. I really don't want to pull my tank off to find this little plastic clip if it is not necessary, as it is way beyond my skill level and would be a huge pain in the ***. To narrow my question a little, will it be ok to just forget about the little clip and just get a new one? There is a fuel filter as mentioned, so is the clip a non-issue?
