New Derby Cover... Gasket?
#1
I am very inexperienced at working on bikes, so please bear with me if this is a total noob question.
I changed the derby cover from stock to a precision billet cover on my wife's 2015 road king tonight. The stock cover had a rubber ring in it, but the new derby cover did not. Do I need any sort of gasket for this?
thanks
Follow up question. If I need a gasket, is it ok to ride the bike to the dealership without one installed? Will a short gasket free trip be a problem?

I had this same "gasket" with my derby cover and wondered why the writing had to be facing inside. It didn't look any different than the other side.

If you haven't found out already, it's a PITA to fill up the primary w/o a funnel. I just bend the old gasket and stuff it between the clutch and cover, instant funnel, no mess if you pour slow too. And don't overfill is rule #1 on the primary, it'll shift like crap and finding neutral sucks too.

I think the part # is 25416-70A.
Or that might be the old, but it looks the same and they will have it in stock, unless they sold out since it does fit almost every HD made for quite a few years.
