Default Mental check list

Other than fluids and tire pressure/wear, what do you all check before a ride? In other words, what do you look for to keep it all together? At 68 years old I have discovered that I am more alive in the wind I ride a 15 Tri Glide and plan on being the oldest biker someday ( if the cages don't stop me), or the scotch and cigars.

All lights- turn sigs, brake, headlight.
I don't check fluids before a ride since I do check the oil when I get back from the previous ride. With liquid cooling I guess that's another check on the list.
Tires I check once a week or if I'm going on a longer ride I'll do that to make sure.

With my bad memory, I have to check 3 times to make sure I have my house
keys when I leave. I've locked myself out more than one time!
I got so used to not locking the ignition on the bike, sometimes I forget to bring the keys.
Normally check the weather radar before I head out too.

68 is probably an average age for HD riders. You have a long way to go before you are the oldest.

A 79 year old gentleman just completed the Iron Butt Rally...

Check the air in the tires.
Once I'm on the road I reach back and make sure I have my wallet.

I do a "bang test" by using my fist to gently tap structural components for looseness while doing a visual of the lesser parts.
It's worked since the 60's.

"Mental" check list? For me, that consists of "Where's my friggin' Lexapro?"

Do I need gas or was I sensible and filled up on the way home from the last ride.
Wallet.
Make sure bags are closed.
Move rain gear and tool kit from bike to bike depending on which one I'm riding.

Those are the obvious checks, tires I do weekly and I keep an eye on oil level.

I make sure my saddlebags are latched and my battery tender is UN-plugged!

Check the radar (if necessary)
Wallet
Phone
Rain gear (if necessary)
