Daymaker doesn't quite fit

Default Daymaker doesn't quite fit

Fitted my used HD 5 3/4" Daymaker to a 2009 softail custom shell. Everything is tight but I can move it around. Should there be a rubber gasket next to the outer chrome ring and unit rim does anyone know? Thanks

Default Daymaker doesn't quite fit

Thought it would fit perfectly being OEM
