Default crashed my bike

OK I need help. I crashed my 12 Electra glide classic into a trailer who turned in front of me then stopped. I was going 45 when I hit. No I was not wearing a helmet, I know I know. I spent 11 days in icu and 4 more in a regular room before being sent home. I'm a miracle is what 7 specialist said. I broke my arm and almost every bone in my face. But the worst thing is I lost blue. My bike, they won't let me have her back because as what they all said there is not one part that is not damaged. I need help convincing the wife to let me get a new bike. Her response is that is has only been a month since I crashed.

Wow, glad you are doing well.. You have someone looking over you. It will take time to get the wife on board. Don't push it. Sorry about the beautiful bike. Jim

Glad you're ok, bikes can be replaced.

The HDF Safety Committee will be along shortly to explain how it was all your own fault.

From what you said happened to you...no offense...but she's nuts if she lets you have another bike. No it wasn't your fault but the next time, it may not be 7 specialist but 6, well, you know. If she does, she should load up on insurance.

Again, no offense to you or your wife. But you should count your blessings and stop while you're ahead and still have one.

Not sure I understand this response at all. A car, truck, or trailer as with the OP could turn in front of any one of us at any time. I would say at this point, the OP, just going through this, is ahead of the game. It is now more likely for you or me to have the next crash. That said, Gary Busey is the poster child for not wearing a helmet

Glad you're OK now, but here's what you tell your wife:

"Honey; I'm buying another bike". 'Nuff said.

Wow glad you're home! I am still recovering from my wreck. Leg still isn't 100% and they still will not give me an MRI. But I talked to my wife and explained accidents happen. Can happen to anyone. Best way is to be alert and take every precaution NOT to wreck (even though mine was completely my fault). She kinda okd it and as soon as she did that I got another one before she can change her mind

Hoping for speedy and smooth recovery.

Exactly. I remember the one time mine told my she did not want me to take a ride. The way I handled the situation, that was the last time she EVER said anything about me taking a ride. The best part is I never said a word. You know the saying, actions can speak louder than words....

Amen - wives/women do not want equality they want control. OP, glad you're OK, now go out there and get a new bike, ...and possibly a new wife. Life's too brief to fill it with all those ''what ifs''.
