So I have a good chance at road trip from NY to south Texas and Bama, only thing is, it will have to be in the beginning of December. Any advice?

Where in Upstate NY are you? You know the weather here. You could easily be snowed in or get lucky and have a few tolerable days.

Have you thought about the weather on the return ride? Or will there be a return?

Not a good idea. Spent a lot of time long-haul trucking and it gets cold all the way down at that time of year. Even Alabama can get pretty cool and damp.

Just play it by ear if possible clean dry roads are my #1 priority in the winter. I can dress to keep warm.

Man that is a hard one to call especially NY state . I have seen snow and cold in mid November. I hunt NY State . You might get Luck but would have trailer ready just in case .
