Really like the "convertabilty" of the FXRG Switchback - http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...leather-jacket - but at $800 / $600 for Nylon, are there better options?

 

Lots of better options. Vanson, Lost Worlds, Aero, Johnson Leathers. Same money as that, but 50x better.

 

I have the leather version of the FXRG Switchback jacket and love it. After having many other brands over the years, this jacket needs no breaking in and is very comfortable from the start. The outer leather panel zips off to reveal a very functional mesh jacket underneath. I've never had to use the insulated liner yet so I can't offer an opinion on it, but it looks well made just like the rest of the jacket. I got it from Kutter for 20% off.

 

I have a HD leather jacket and I like it, but I would never give $800 for one.

It's not a switchback nor an XL

 

Kutter is selling for 636.00 I would buy this jacket because of the versatility. But since it has harley plastered all on the back of it. I ended up buying a Dainese Razon Leather jacket

 

I'd have a hard time paying $800 bucks for a leather jacket too, especially with my "yo-yo" weight issue.


However, I have a H-D CHiP's jacket that I've worn for several years and it still looks great.


If you like it, and you can afford it, why not?

 

Buy used.

 

Vanson , made in usa, not cheap but worth it. Pick one up on Ebay for at least 50% off retail.
