Default Harley brand oil V. other brands

Since moving to Arizona, dealerships are a lot longer distance. Wondering if using other than Harley oil will have an affect warranty.

More threads about oil than anything else.

Short answer, no, as long as it meets specs.

Later, a whole bunch of smart asses will chime in for about 100 pages of nonsense.

Always try to use the "Search Function" in the right upper corner of the sub-forums before asking a question that you know is most likely one that has run it's course over the years. Like oils, helmets, best bike, best boots, etc, etc, etc.

Don't listen to these guys. Everyone knows your warranty is immediately void if you use ANY oil other than the Harley-Davidson brand. Same with tires. If you even fill your tires with non Harley branded air........ boom, waranty void.

I suggest you talk with others in your area see what they're runnin. AZ gets friggin hot in the summer, a little colder in winter where you are. Viscosity is everything, and syns are better than dinos.

What about the Wet Heads? Do I have to use Harley anti-freeze or can I use another brand?

You will be fine. Being in AZ, I would use synthetic, it handles heat better.
