Default 1998 Fatboy Value?

I'm thinking about buying my first bike and know someone with a 1998 Fatboy for sale. Mileage is approx. 48K. Been laid down once but no damage. 50K service has not been done and it needs a new rear tire. Upgrades are highway bars and Vance & Hines exhaust.

NADA value is $4,200-5,600 but that's pretty vague. What do you guys think a reasonable price is?

Thanks

NADA value is pretty spot on depending on location and condition for a late Evo softail. I'd offer 5k and see what happens.

I would think it's not worth even five grand. I am sure the seller thinks he's giving it away at six.

I paid $7,500 for my '98 Fatboy in 2011. It had 30K miles. It was unmolested and ran perfect. I considered it a good deal. This was my first Harley and I'm sure I could have found one cheaper but I was excited. I would guess the market is around 5-6K now for a near stock one.

I'd offer $5K.

I paid 7k for my 94 FXSTC with 138 miles on it in 2010 (really). All depends what you want to spend. 5k seem OK to me.

It's worth what you will pay and what the seller wants. If you fall in love with the bike, it will be worth more. If the seller has hardship issues, it will be worth less.

I had a 98 , 95th anniverary Fatboy had 13000 miles traded or gave it away in 2006 for a 2006 Heritage they gave me 4500 on the trade . If I could turn back the clock they would have never got it for that it was a very good bike .

Depends on the condition of the bike...and I'd factor in other accessories on it.
V&H pipes isn't a biggie for me...I'd probably discard that for something a bit more older style....it's an overly common generic add-on to me.

But the fact that it's an older generation...EVO powered, and carb'd...to me that ads value. Nice Evo rigs are on the market in the 5-6 grand area and getting sold at those prices.
