Yes, I saw this bike on the dealer floor. A five year old bagger with 100k on the ODO, and they were asking fifteen grand for it!!!! So i figured I'd ask you you guys. Is this freakin' absurd???? Who would pay this? Who would go that far in debt for a bike with that many miles when there are countless bikes for similar money with less than a third of those miles?

Seriously, my '09 had 90k on it when I traded in, they gave me $11,500 for it (UC, bunch of extras) which I thought was fair. They sold it for what they had in it a week later.

 

They probably paid 6 grand for it.


They will negotiate down 3-4 grand.


and somebody will think they got a deal.

 

Ummm, could you be any more vague about the bike? What does it have on it? Was the motor recently rebuilt?, etc., etc., etc.? Forming an opinion based solely on the number of miles on a bike is pretty naive. Although, from the sound of it, I don't expect you to understand that...

 

It was a black ultra with apes. Looked mostly stock, and no, I didn't ask a salaman what was done to the internals. Because most of us already know that you NEVER get out what you put in. Given that basic and well known premise, coupled with the fact.... I wasn't a potential buyer. I was more than satisfied that it was a rediculously priced motorcycle, given the more than obvious clues.

This is the very reason why I don't think harleys should hold more value then any other kind of bike.
