Default 1991 fxlr

I have a 1991 fxlr, left me sitting on the turnpike with a dead battery. After getting the bike home and testing it I realized that the magnets in the stator were tore to ****. The spacer was welded to the rotor making it impossible to remove but after doing so I noticed the magnets were tore up on one side. I was going to by a new rotor and stator but worried about the shaft. I see deep gouges in the spline. Removing the shaft is a major job, do you think it would have caused any other damage? I really hate to buy a rotor and stator and spend a **** load of time to found something else could be wrong. Any help or suggestions would be great.

Appreciate the interest but it's a part of me. Sold my first bike 1966 ironhead and regret it everyday. But if things change I'll keep you in mind.

Post this in the evo section. You won't get any decent help here.
