Default Kicking rocks?

Won't have any motorcycles on any road if EPA establishes use of E15 blend.

Go to AMA site and select "Congressional letter aims to prevent E15-related engine damage", and electronically sign the petition.
The deadline for signatures is Friday, Oct. 23!

Otherwise, see y'all walking the side of the road kicking rocks!

Pretty sure the E15 is in addition to E10, not a replacement, YET.

Last I read, the ethonol thing in the US is done at an energy loss- it takes more energy to do it than you get out of the process.

Plus it has increased food prices for the developing world.

Not to mention wreaking havoc on outboard motors.

But, it is a political payoff for the farmer lobby, so maybe they need to double down on that in preparation for the election.

Bingo. Pork barrel politics at it's finest. Ethanol sucks.

Yes, as a fuel, it sucks compared to gasoline. But unless we start evolving engines to cope with increasing proportions of ethanol (or something else), we'll never get to the point where we have the world prepared for the end of oil. No manufacturer is going to do it voluntarily, so we need to suck it up in order to still have personal-drive vehicles around in 20/30/40 years time.

I've been hearing people worry about "running out of oil" since the early 70's. For 40 years, we "only have 20 years of oil left". And yet here we are, with more oil than we've ever had and oil prices lower than they've been in years.

Hmmm....Maybe there is something missing in the equation.

Ethanol is a boondoggle of the first order. We have a world that is awash with oil. We also have a world with billions of people with barely enough to eat, thousands of whom die every day from starvation. So what do we decide to do? Burn food to make expensive fuel.

Stupid.

Sign the petition if you like, but stupidity this ingrained is not going anywhere.

So the best solution then would be to burn the starving to make cheap fuel!

While I wouldn't want to see even more ethanol in the gasoline, chicken little can go away.

"Catalytic converters will mean the end of motorcycles."
"If they are able to make helmets mandatory for riders it'll mean the end of motorcycles."
"Required motorcycle safety classes in order to get a motorcycle endorsement will mean the end of motorcycles."

There are several other examples but last I looked around there are still a lot of bikes on the road.
