Default Danny Gray IST seats

Greetings,

I originally had this thread in the Dyna section, but not getting any traction.

Anyone with experience on the Danny Gray IST seats? Specifically, the LowIST and TourIST seats in leather? Info on the BigIST and SoloIST seats welcome.

How does it reposition the rider from the stock seat?
Comfort for long distance?
Any hot spots?
Other?

Sorry no input on the IST seats but I have the Buttcrack solo on my Softail and the Big Seat on my Street Glide. The quality is spot on, full leather, both of mine push me back 1-2" which is fine, you will feel planted on these unlike a slippery vinyl seat, both put me lower to the ground as well as giving the bike a lower profile look when off the bike. Give them 500 or more miles to adjust to you and break in. Very firm seats but they will get better just like any leather product does.

I just ordered a MinimalIST solo seat for my 2006 Dyan. The vinyl covered one, I'll let you know how it goes.

I have the BigIST on my 14 LowRider. MUCH more comfortable than the stock seat. I think looks better also. The only slight negative is that it raised the seat height a little bit. I'm only 5'7" so seat height matter to me.

Appreciate the info. Did it move your fore / aft from stock?

The MinimalIST seat is VERY firm, but not exactly 'hard'. What I mean by that is it feels like it is hard, but where a hard seat would begin to pinch and make your *** sore, the MiniamlIST doesn't do that. After a few miles you stop thinking about how hard it is. I only have about 50 miles on it so far, and it was a hot day, so my *** was uncomfortable anyway. I think I need a lot more time with it, but I like how it feels so far. It seems to to the job. It's not soft and squishy and it's not so hard that it is uncomfortable. It's just kind of firm and neutral.

Default Danny Gray tourist ist seat

Well, I picked up a Danny Gray tourist ist about a month ago and I was not happy with the quality of the seat at all. I had to clean adhesive residue from the bottom of the seat and I spent some time trimming the pop rivets holding the tongue to the nose of the seat.
Once I got the quality control out of the way, I am finding the seat is comfortable. Moves me back and down on the bike. I don't have any issues with hotspots.
Kind of ugly, looks a lot like a sundowner.
