Question Ohlins or 970's

Talking about shocks on another thread, I'm looking to change my 412's for a pair of Ohlins or Progressive 970.

Anyboby tried both of them and can give some feed back?

They are in the same range of price and both are customizable, so a little help would be appreciated.

I'm 190 pounds with 30 inches inseam and ride solo 90% of the time.
Thanks!

I've tried them all, a Harley is just a Harley and not a BMW

I have neither ...yet. When I do upgrade it will most likely be whatever Howard recommends. I know they are both comparable in price and function but I have read that Progressive`s customer service is not that great, where Howard`s is exceptional!

While I have neither (I'm running Hagon Nitro's), my guess would be comparative function Ohlin's are better. They are built for your weight / riding style, while the 970's come as is.

Coming from a sport bike background I can tell you Ohlins is the gold standard in suspension technology. Just my .02 if money is not a deciding factor get a custom built set of 3way adjustable shocks and get the sag set correctly. If only you get a set of Ohlins tubes for the front.

ohlins, proven shock time after time in many applications (I also come from the sportbike world and this is what I always ran).

If that doesn't convince you, then this will. 970's are not serviceable but Ohlins is, which means the Ohlins can be adjusted/repaired over time, the 970's are a disposable shock after it breaks or needs servicing.

Ok thanks, I've ordered a couple of Ohlin's and will pick them up in Florida during my stay.
