Between the $17,000 low rider and the $ 19,000 road glide . But that's only on the dealers show floor . Once you buy it you'll fit in with any age Harley on the road !

There's no "Harley hierarchy." There's what works for you, what works for me, what works for everybody else. Some people see the need to rationalize the huge dollars they spend on a motorcycle so they like to rank their bike as "better" than others.
Hell, for me, I'd love to have a 1950's era Panhead done in original bobber style (not what's called bobber today) so a 1959 Panhead ranks at the top of the hierarchy as far as I'm concerned.
I'd rank it as to when it was launched into production and distribution. Just like in the Service you were not only treated according to rank but more importantly your "date of rank and time in service". I'd start with the 1984 FXST and go from there.
