Gas prices in this area of Illinois and Iowa have not fallen much with the price of crude oil over the past few months.

However while on a fall leaf color ride today on Illinois route 29 of Chilicote just north of Peoria the BP and Shell stations were at $1.91/gal. 93 octane was at $2.51. I use 4 to five gallons a day on my rides so I am including going through that area frequently.

It was already a great ride. Many bikes out in the low 60's with light winds and the best fall colors I have seen along the Illinois River.

Our highway is $2.20 while 20 miles north, their highway is $1.85. Why?
Last year around the end of the year, gas in town went down to $1.75.

5.90 per gallon here

1.559 per liter (1 gallon = 3.785 liters)

That is in Euro, not US Dollar.

Enjoy the cheep gas while you can.
Drilling in the US has almost come to a stop.
We will all pay for that later.

I've been wondering what's up with premium being almost 60+ cents more a gallon around here lately when it was always usually around 30 cents over regular. My car takes it as well, so when I'm seeing regular at 1.90 but premium is still 2.60 it's rediculous.

The station that I go to just charged $2.05/Gal for Regular (Corn Gas), $2.50/gal for Premium (Which is Pure gas @91 Octane.).
They have a members card which discounts those prices by $.07/Gal most days, $.10/Gal. on Sundays.

The least expensive nearby Premium is $2.36/Gal, but most others run in the mid $2.40's all the way up to $2.89/Gal.

For my bike the pure gas gives me a slight 1-2 MPG gain over other brands corn Premium which makes it competitive in price to all those listed costs, even the cheapest, and it's ethanol free. Win!.

For N.Y. this is outstanding, haven't seen prices like this in years.

I just did a 500+ mile ride this weekend, and at one station on HWY 19 running up the coast here in FL, they wanted $1.20 more for premium than regular, which my bike pukes on. I opted to push my luck and reserves and roll down the road a few miles to somewhere reasonable. I made it and saved $3 on that tank alone by riding another 10 miles.
