Seeking advice/opinion on trading up
So I just financed my '15 Iron 883 back in May, thought it was the right move since I am 5'4 145lbs. I put some money into it right off the bat: exhaust, air filter, daymaker led light, power commander v, progressive rear shocks and a few other cosmetic accessories. I've put 4500 miles on it since May and im debating on whether to keep it and upgrade to the 1200 or 1250cc kit. I'm in love with the softail slim, I've sat on it every time i visit the dealer and it feels very good so far all I need is to take it out for a test ride if and when I do decide to take this route since Harley is offering a retail for trade deal..
*reason why I'm thinking of upgrading is for obvious reasons: more power most importantly as I'm probably becoming a member of an MC and tho I'm keeping up on short term rides with the guys I'm worried about long term and keeping up then. AND the slim is just a badass bike in my opinion!! Any thoughts? Thanks!!

You will definitely lose your shirt on the trade. A Softail is a much heavier bike, but the balance is actually better than on the Iron. If the weather is still OK, see if you can test ride one. If not a new one, I bet they have a used one that you could look at and test. Also, in a couple months, they may have some hold over 2015 bikes they will be willing to deal on.

I upgraded from my 1200T Superlow, which was a great bike, to the Fatboy (a Softail). I've never regretted it. The Softail actually handles better, and is much calmer on the Freeways doing 70-80MPH (or more.)
This is about as good a time as it will ever be to upgrade and I am glad I did. I am imagining that you will be too.

thanks so far the advice everyone, thats what I was assuming I would need to do i.e. remove upgrades and sell them separately. However, let's just say I stick with the Iron, then I might as well convert it to the 1200cc or 1250 right? I'm just at a point now to decide to dump more money for more power on the iron or stop here and see what I can do to get the Slim.

It sounds to me like a serious case of buyers remorse. You appear to be searching for an excuse to go to another bike. In what way does your Iron (with upgrades) not keep up with your future MC buddies? Your Iron will run super slab speeds all day long with no problem. Fuel capacity?

I would ask this, and really not to be a smart-*** or anything. I own a Sportster in addition to my Deluxe.
The question is….
Is the reason you want to trade up REALLY because of more power? Because the power to weight ratio of even the 883 isn't that far off from the bigger bike, with both around 10lbs per HP.
Or is it "Little Bike or Girls Bike Syndrome" or the lack of respect for the Sporty from your clubmates?
