Could this light be for real? That's over double what most of the LED lights advertise. I didn't see anything about DOT, so maybe it's true? I guess as long as your not saddled with pesky DOT restrictions, anything is possible. Does anyone believe these claims, or is it just a cheap light with a lie for an advertising gimmick? Cause at that price, I may be willing to give one a shot.

I often walk my 2 dogs down the side of the nearby road at night and cars tend to drive past very fast. When I have this torch lighting the way ahead, then everything sees it and slows right down.
So I don't know if the lumens claim is accurate - and it almost certainly won't be. But certainly a bright light gets you seen more, and there are some very powerful LED lights out there these days.

Humm, I am thinking I may just give this thing a try. I have a pretty bright headlight now, but upping the game is always a good thing.......... right???
I know some folks are all about the DOT thing, but since not a single forward facing light on my bike meets ANY DOT specification, I figure..... why worry about that now?

mostly, lumen ratings are pulled from air , unless from reputable sources..
example.. i have many 3$ flashlights from amazon.. all the same, zoomable , small..
theyre quite a bargain,,the advertised output ratings go up daily.. now they advertise like ~380 lm ..
i used the 14500 batteries w/ 3.7V and theyre extremely bright..
unless someone tests w/ meter, the claims go largely unchallenged..

Agreed. That's a huge concern. That was the issue, and reason I ditched my little fan cooled LED drop in bulb. Maybe it was my bike, maybe it was the Road King housing specifically, but although the little sucker was bright as all get-out, it just threw light in front of the bike randomly. There was no focused beam, no way to properly adjust it to the road, and drew constant flashes from incoming cars, even on low beam. Fortunately it was less money than this light AND, I was able to resell it. But yeah, I hate being a guinea pig on new lights.

I've got the Vision X Vortex LED headlight on my 07 Street Glide, 4,200 raw lumens. It's pretty nasty, I've never needed the high beam. I use it in conjunction with the Socalmotogear Pathfinder passing lights at 1,900 lumens. All totaled I have around 6,100 lumens illuminating the night. I could use just the passing lamps at night without the need for a headlight.
