Momentary turn signals on 82 FXR
Random musing...did anyone else really appreciate (like I did) the momentary turn signals on the older HD's?
While I really appreciate the self-cancelling signals on my '02, having the momentary signals on my '82 FXR were AWESOME compared to everything else I'd ridden before.
All my previous bikes (non-HD) had the signal switch on one side and were on 'til you manually turned them off. I was always forgetting to turn them off...and they never seemed to work very good either...or I was just too busy to pay attention, lol.
Anyway, I don't know if Harley's always had that type of signal or not...but I never hear much discussion on that...but to me it was a big deal at the time.

What do I know? On my Shovel, I have the little buttons that you have to hold down with your thumb. Self-cancel is when you let go. Then, the one on the right hasn't worked in about two years, in spite of checking the bulb, wire, switch, etc. so I only turn left now. I had hardtails back in the day that had nuthin'.
My '76 Aermacchi Harley had the switch on the left like you're talking about. I liked it.
