Default Bal-1

I recently purchased and installed a BAL-1 on the bike. 94 FXSTC with a fatboy rear fender off a 98. Just to get some perspective.
I'm not that impressed with the light over just the LED 1157 bulb retrofit I was using.
But now to my real question.
In my rush to purchase the BAL light I didn't realise they had a BAL-3. This is the laydown style, that I would have preferred.
Does anyone know if the two lenses are interchangeable?
I emailed the company last week with this inquiry and they haven't responded yet. I also asked if they were interchangeable if they sold replacement lens only. Figure they might, lens do crack, right?

They swapped it out for me for $50. I changed it for the smoked laydown. Just curious when you said you're not impressed with the light … have you experimented with the settings especially with running light intensities? I love my BAL. It's kept people off my rear end. Great customer service. BTW my light was almost 2 yrs old when they did the swap.

Thanks for getting back. Ya I figured there's an up charge and shipping. Did you have to return the old lens for the $50?
Ya I put it on setting 2 for the running light, setting 3 was to close to brake light intensity to really notice a difference. I want caggers to see I'm braking.
I needed the adaptor for my year, 1157 to can-bus (i think it's called) tight fit behind the BAL-1, do you think it'll fit behind the lay down lens?

Just an idea but if you emailed them and you haven't gotten a response yet, maybe they have a toll free number you can use to call customer service and get your answers faster.

Don't misunderstand, not bashing them at all.
Phone was my next step. Was just getting some input in the meantime. Was going to call Monday (tomorrow).
Reason I waited all week was to give them time to respond.

No problemo, I never thought you were, I'm just not much for talking through a machine when I want to know something and I would rather talk to a person, I guess you could call me old fashioned. Good luck

Thanks, I'm just old and suffer from CRS. When I get home from work and finally remember they've closed.

This also perked my interest, because until this thread I've never seen a single bad review.

Maybe @RANGER73 needs to revisit the setup once he has his preferred lens style installed.

I intend to. Wasn't a bad revue, I just expected more.
I'm wondering as I've lowered the rear (Shotgun Shock) if the angle is affecting the "glare" pattern intensity. (for lack of a better term)

My BAL-1 has saved my butt twice on the same bike, until there are some teeth in the dis-tracted driving laws I'll keep using them.
