Calling paint pros - Rattle Can Job Advice
Im buying a raw fender and tank for the iron, I have a vision for the paint job which I would like to take on myself. I know a good rattle can job is achievable with correct prep/Application but what I don't have an answer on is, what is a good primer/paint to use. I want to do a silver(possibly flake) base, tape off my design and do root beer candy over the top.
I have been reading that layering on 2k clear over the top is my best bet for durability / quality. If 2k is such a good rattle can clear coat, does the durability of the paint under it matter?
Does anyone have a recommended brand. I don't mind special ordering a specialized paint, Il pay for better quality.

I actually do a lot of "rattle can" painting. Use Pro Form self etching primer and John Deere Blitz Black to match parts to my Fat Bob Denim Black. At work, I was having trouble with insides of metal pails rusting out so primed and painted with Rustoleum rattle cans; none have rusted thru since. Anything I spray at work gets a coat of Rustoleum primer first.
