Default Sub-50°F/10°C I Rode Today

Who else is riding this winter in temperatures below 50°F/10°C?

2°C (35.6°F) with wet roads today.

I usually ride as long as the road is free from ice.

Fifty is not cold at all. I also ride until they salt the roads.

I commute when its in the 40's. ( I used to ride into the upper 20's but I'm getting tired of all the bundling up just to get undressed at the office 45 minutes.)

In all fairness, when I ride in the colder weather I'm not "going" anywhere. I'm retired, so I don't put all that gear on and then have to take it off at work only to do it again at the end of the day. That would be a PITA.

I ride unless the roads are wet or snow covered. Yesterday was 29f when I left with 10-15 mph winds.

I was planning on riding in this morning. Got all geared up, pulled the bike out letting it warm up, getting ready to strap on the helmet and decided to do a visual of my tires. Glad I did as the rear tire was sitting way low. Not sure what is going on but I'll be pulling it tomorrow after today's festivities.
Pissed I couldn't ride- grateful I wasn't kicking down the highway with a flat tire.
Ride safe.

I'd be playing in the snow with my sidecar rig if this state didn't put blue stuff on the roads that dissolve steel. Just have to get the right stuff to keep fingers and toes from freezing, and keep that vulnerable area between the clothes and helmet covered; a simple balaclava usually works for me. It's cold enough here that I brought the helmet into the store on a grocery run a couple days ago, no fun putting on a cold helmet. I'm retired, too, and agree it would be a real hassle wearing the gear to work. And getting sprayed with salt slush in rush hour traffic...
