Carson City Harley all done
Apparently. Doors closed just before Thanksgiving, employees told to file for unemployment. According to the local news, the owner has allegedly been pocketing funds and not paying the Motor Company. Suits filed and all that.
Another one bites the dust.
(Searched to see if this had already been posted, didn't find it. If so, mea culpa.)

Here's a better story
The suit filed on Nov. 17 in Carson District Court charges Roberta and Jose Richard Tapia sold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of motorcycles and accessories without paying back the loans used to buy the bikes.
The Tapias purchased the bikes and other products using loans from Harley-Davidson Credit Corp. through their corporate name Gato Malo. But the lawsuit charges when bikes and other things were sold, they kept the money instead of paying off the loans.
In addition, the suit says auditors were unable to verify the status of motorcycles worth another $637,282.It charges the Tapias started keeping the cash instead of paying back the loans as early as February 2009.

Dang, 45 minutes away from me. That leaves only one northern Nevada dealer.
Pretty sure MOCO credit is also based in Carson City.
I wonder if the unpaid bikes purchased by customers will get entangled in the lawsuit?
Gato Malo means bad cat in Espanish.

Sounds like there is some fault to be laid on Harley Finance. They were the ones to let it get out of control before taking action. If you have a friend that borrows a hundred from you. Do you loan him another hundred before paying back the first. Then again loan him a third hundred and not paid back the first?
