Default Ok, here's what I do (2)

Jweeds thread "Ok, here's what I do" got me thinking (which could be a problem all of its own)...
Have you ever been going for a ride, and something just didn't "feel" right? From time to time, I'll go get the bike out, and have some sort of anxiety or apprehension. The rare occasions that this happens, I put it back in the shed and find something else to do.
Call me superstitious, or whatever...

Maybe one should consider selling the bike and not ride!

I've had that "little bit off" feeling a couple times in the 30 some years I've been riding. I've always rode anyway. meh

I've been riding for over 40 years and have had that feeling a number of times. Unfortunately about half that time I have had no options other than go back to the couch or ride away. Quite a few times I went back to the couch.
Maybe thats one reason why I have been riding for over 40 years.

Ha. If I stayed home every time things didn't feel right I'd never leave.

Started on a ride a few years ago. Within the first mile a driver made a left turn and swung all the way over into the gutter of my lane. I swerved into a driveway and was missed. Five miles farther I was on a two lane state highway going about 10 mph over the speed limit when somebody decided to pass me on the right. No shoulder, they were going about 90 in the ditch. A few miles farther on the same state highway, a pickup driving towards me was carrying a couple of door assemblies ( door and frame) and hadn't tied down the load. When the door caught air it came out of the truck bed and halfway into my lane. Since this all happened within 20 miles of my house, I decided something wasn't right so I turned around and went home. Shortest ride I have ever had.

So, yeah, something didn't feel right and I stopped my ride.
