Anyone use this stand from Harbor Freight? I'm going to start changing my own fluids next go around, but I want to make sure the bike doesn't fall over in the process.
Have had 2 of those for a few years now. One for my Kawasaki ZX-12R and one for my Fatbob. Bike is very stable in it. Never used tiedowns. Just drive in the garage and onto the stand. Only problem I had was a slick garage floor. The rubber feet would not keep the stand from scooting away. Took them off and placed a rubber mat under it. Problem solved. Getting the bike out takes some learning, but, then is a piece of cake. Have to jerk back hold the front brake, jerk back, brake, repeat till the bike is over the hump. Great stands for the money.
I have used one with my Street Glide. The biggest issue is that it needs to be placed against something or otherwise fastened down or it will slide. My Condor does not have that problem but it also cost 5 times as much
I have one too. I chucked the stock plastic feet in the trash. Attached some scrap rubber truck bed mat on the bottom.
Also works good if I need to trailer the bike. I made up some pins that thread into the missing feet threads and drop down into holes in my trailer. Works great.
Buddy of mine bought one of those and second time he used it the front end twisted because it slid and dumped the bike. Put it on a big rubber mat and tie downs I haven't heard any more horror stories.
I took the cross member off and mounted it on a piece of 3/4 plywood. I lay it on an rubber mat I got at Lowes. When I ride the bike up on it or pull it off, it's steady as a rock. I don't even use tie downs it's so solid.
I use the jiffy stand. After the oil, primary or trans fluid has drained, I upright the bike to get it all out. If you want it more upright, put a short section of 2x4 under the jiffy stand. It's free and doesn't take up any storage space in the garage.
I had a Condor for my old 09 Ultra and trailer, sold both. When I set up my new trailer this time I tried the one from HFreight. It works great bolted down on my trailer and I don't have to worry about someone stealing it.
