There's no replacement for displacement; as the saying goes.

Sorry, can't help. I started riding when 74 was the biggest bike on earth. Do you really think the difference between 103 and 110 will be noticeable for other than 1% of your riding?

I have the 110 and my SIL has a 103 in his fatbob. The 103 in the light frame runs pretty well. What is the cost difference?

The 103 just hits the sweet spot . And should be HD standard motor for a good 15 yrs. And for the big money of getting the 110 cu what are you getting 5 Hp.

If you ever want to advance beyond "Stage 1", the 110 has better heads but I believe the spigots are unique, precluding boring the cases easily for larger bore cylinders. For a daily rider with more potential, I'd go 110. You also get cruise, I believe...and maybe a couple of other minor features. My brother is looking at a new bike soon and I'm strongly influencing him to go Softail Slim S; for him and his style it would be perfect.

Loving my Fatboy S. Yes I notice the extra power and torque, it's a very fast bike. There is no extra heat on my legs. I like the cruise too.

If you can afford to feed your ego the 110. if you plan on riding it like a cruiser the 103 works very well. Are you going to hop it up? Or ride it and in joy it the way it comes?

I have a "full stage 1" with dyno tune on my 103 and its great, but I also did a couple Test Our Metal events this summer and the 110 feels faster, accelerates harder. so if I could turn back time knowing what I know now... I probably would've gone for a 110 off the start.

Everything can be built bigger, better and faster but it really comes down to how far you want to take it. Do you want to get into big bore kits, cams and heads? or just bolt on exhaust, intake, and tune then ride it?

I've had 2 103's a now a 110''. The 110 is easily much better. Going from 96'' to 103'' was very noticeable but the move from 103'' to 110'' was huge.
